Hello everyone, *looks around* notice anything different??
Well you should have! I would like to welcome you to the new Sincerely, Nate.com!
Tell me, are you digging the new layout?
I hope that you’ve all had a wonderful holiday season because it’s time to get back to work! It’s time to get started on those New Year resolutions we all make. Usually, I make way too many and end up dropping them after the first week of January, but this year I’ve narrowed it down to one. My New Year’s resolution is to stick to my plan no matter the feeling or circumstance.
In an effort to help me with this resolution, I started picking up the tools that I would need before the year had even ended. A new planner, protein powder to help with my physical health, new journal for prayer time, study materials for my exams, a new camera to help with blogging and a new book to read just to name a few. Going out to get these things before the end of 2017 was for me sort of an inner protest to falling into that
“I’m going to write these goals down and tell people about them but not really accomplish them” category. I want to prove to myself that I am serious about improving the quality of my life.
The new book I purchased is called High Performance Habits by Brendon Burchard and so far it is a complete gem. It really digs into a topic that I have been studying for years. That topic being….. SUCCESS!! I have always wondered how it really works. How to get from where I am currently to the wealthy side of life. Not just career wise, but in my ability to give, to serve and to improve the lives of others. I have always wanted to know what it would take for me to reach my highest potential! If you are anything like me, that question of why some people seem to just be more successful than others just can’t be ignored. More specifically, why it seems that sometimes a person can achieve success easily, as if they have blindly and stumbled into it, other times experience failure after failure before even a hint of success comes his or her way.
I’ve only reached the third chapter but this book is already helping me to dissect who I am and really figure out where I need to incorporate better daily habits. This book has also given me techniques on how to be productive regardless of how I feel. High Performance Habits also includes information on what some of the most successful people in this world do and how I can begin to do those things so that I can reach my personal best. How exciting is that?! This year I am aiming to do more consistent work on my habits and that takes time. Now to be honest, if I had a genie or Iyanla I’d just ask them to fix my life. *giggles* But maybe just maybe me not having either of those options is the beauty of life, right? Maybe the beauty in living is that with each choice we as humans can enhance and upgrade the overall experience of our daily lives! It will take discipline and it can be done! Time to L I V E this year to it’s fullest!
