Welcome back! Im so excited to share this post with you all! Why you ask? Wellllllll because not only do I have valuable information for your reading pleasure, I also have visual content for you!!!
*and the crowd goes wild*
Most of the time when I need to use a protective style for my hair I prefer to go with a sewin. It gives me a break from having to style, wash, condition, and moisturize my hair from week to week. Protective styles each have their own pros and cons though so it’s important that you choose the style that works best for you!
In this post, I want to show you how to detangle your hair after a sewin! Leaving your hair up in braids underneath weave for one to two months means that during all that time the shaft of your hair had no chance to get moisturized! Which means that once you take the sewing down, that hair could be quite dry and fragile. I can’t stress enough how important it is to detangle your hair in the most beneficial way possible. When detangling my hair I use Coconut oil and Conditioner to loosen all the dirt and shed hair as well as to moisturize it. Instead of going directly in with a comb I finger detangle first and then go in with a Tangle Teaser. The process may seem long but I promise you that it is worth it! Check out this video and let me know if this technique helps you maximize your ability to retain the length of you hair!!
